[Everything around him felt like eternal darkness.
Unlike the outer space that Momota "Luminary of the Stars" Kaito was used to, there wasn't a single trace of bright stars twinkling in the galaxy. It was completely and totally dark, as if he were in some kind of void. He sure as hell was afraid to admit this, but he was actually starting to feel somewhat terrified. He could not shake this feeling of dread and worst of all, he felt totally alone.
Suddenly, the complete opposite happens and there's a bright flash of white light. In a instant, he's suddenly awake?? At least... that's what he thinks? He doesn't even remember falling asleep in the first place. God all mighty this is confusing.
He stumbles at first but once he's able to steady himself, he glances around the unfamiliar surroundings. Where on earth was he? This wasn't the school he was trapped in. Granted, anything was better than that hell hole but this was still beyond strange. The last thing he remembered was Gonta's class trial and...
Shit.
Shit shit shit. What the hell was he doing just standing here?! Was this another one of Monokuma's tricks?! If that was the case, he needed to find his friends and fast. He had to do whatever he could to make sure they are all okay. Screw the Killing Game, screw his confusion, his remaining friends were top priority right now!!
Not wanting to waste a single second, he begins to sprint. He has no idea where he's running to but he doesn't care. The only thing on his mind is reuniting with his friends. As he was running, he could feel a sharp pain his chest and begins to cough. He sure as hell wasn't going to let his illness get the better of him though. Suddenly, he could hear the sound of an intercom turning on, an a eerily sounding voice begins to speak.
I'm sure there's some confusion as to what's going on, but don't fret! I've summoned you all for a fun little activity called a Killing game!
At first he's speechless, did he seriously get summoned here just to participate in yet another killing game? But he's not quiet for very long because soon, he's angry. If this is yet another murdergame, then did more innocent people get dragged into this? Was this Monokuma's doing yet again? He was sure there was more to the intercom message, but he was too pissed off to listen to the rest of it. Just the word killing game was enough to send him into a frenzy.
Thinking about everything that's happened enraged him and he felt like punching the nearest wall.]
You've gotta be fuckin' kiddin me!! What kinda sick joke is this?! Who the hell is in charge this time?!
[In the midst of his boiling anger, Kaito finds himself literally slamming into someone and ends up landing on his butt in the process.]
Oh shit, sorry about that! Are you ok-- [He suddenly pauses at the sight of who he ran into.
At first, he's almost in disbelief that he actually ran into her. But the longer he stared into those crimson eyes, he knew. She was real and she was right in front of him.]
H-Harumaki?!
[Unlike his tone from just a few seconds ago, his voice is much more strained. He's out of breath from running and coughing, but seeing her was enough for him to feel energized.
Despite his massive confusion, there was one thing he would never forget and it was her.]

"Hey, Miss Assassin! Or should I call you the Fabrikiller? Well, it doesn't really matter. I've got an offer for you."
Of course, she didn't think that offer would have been something like this. She thought it was some sort of hilarious joke, one of the worst types of blackmail. The actual offer was not only would they revive Momota Kaito back to health, they'd even give her the medicine to cure the disease that he was given.
Even with the pill in a small case in her hands, she can't help but swallow nervously. There was only one job she had to do: she was a killswitch, something that was meant for an 'in case of emergency', if someone didn't end up killing for the motive. And if she managed to get away with it?
She was promised that the both of them would be released.
What a joke. Or at least, that what she was telling herself before she heard the familiar voice, one that immediately makes her tense up in fear, her mouth gaping as she finally saw him. He's on the ground, not to mention that he's still suffering...
It makes any words that she has to offer die in her throat as she clenches her hands into tight fists. She won't cry. She can't. Even though she's fully aware of what's going on, of the truth about him, showing any emotions, she can't— ]
How many times have I told you not to call me that?
[ Something about the way she says it, however, isn't completely serious like the other times she's told him to stop. She doesn't care if these feelings of hers were created by someone for the sake of the killing game, but he's here. He's real.
That's all that matters.
But that also means that the offer was real, and it makes her almost curse under her breath. Almost being the key word here, as she tries her best not to be too tense as she unclenches the hand that doesn't hold the pill as she offers him a hand to get up. ]
You shouldn't be running in the halls, you know.

He still couldn't deny that he was pissed off at the situation they were in and he still wanted to punch someone's lights out, but he was able to somewhat settle down at the sight of his so called 'sidekick'. Her presence is soothing, his anger was slowly begining to subside.
Even though the situation was far from ideal, he was still happy. They could end up anywhere and he would still feel joy just from being by her side. At the same time, it was frustrating. It's not fair that she ended up in another killing game, she deserved a much more happier life than this.
Her reaction to his pet name for her causes him to smile and he even lets out a hearty laugh in response.]
Aw, don't be like that Harumaki! I can tell that you are totally happy to see me.
[Without holding back, his hand extends out and he gives her an affectionate pat on the head. Every so often, his hand would gently rub the top of her head. He wanted to give her a hug but he remembered what happened the last time he pulled her in for a hug. Maybe this way he wouldn't get punched too hard...
Although, he couldn't quite point it out but the tone in her voice seemed somewhat different than usual. But maybe that was just his imagination.
Even know he knew full well that Maki was more than capable of defending herself, he still made a vow that he was going to protect her no matter what cost. He still wasn't sure how he ended up here, but he sure as hell wasn't going to let anything happen to Maki while he was around.]
I couldn't help myself! I wanted to find whoever the hell is in charge and give him a good knock upside the head![But before he could crack his knuckles, he pauses. A realization hits him. If she was here, then maybe the rest of their friends were here too?! Maybe they can escape this game together!!] Hey, are the others here as well?

It made her heart swell in ways she thought it never would.
Not that she'd ever admit that openly to him, of all people. ]
Do you want to die?
[ It's spoken a little halfheartedly than usual, although for some reason, she almost instinctively leans into that touch for a moment before she realizes what she's done and takes a quick step away from him. She'd punch him, normally, but that probably wouldn't be good for his health right now.
So she simply just gives him a look that's a little frustrated as her two hands rest atop her head, fingers laced together, her cheeks slightly pink as her crimson red eyes narrow to show just how frustrated she really is.
She hates it, how easily affectionate he is with her. She hates that she can't truly hate him, regardless of what she saw. Once he asks if the others are here, Maki finally lets out the heavy breath that she didn't think that she was holding, shifting her eyes away in a manner that makes her seems a little uncomfortable.
But she's finally rid of the flush in her cheeks. Maybe he won't comment on it... not to mention that he's right about one thing. She truly is happy to see him again. More than she can ever express or tell him. And it's that fact that she finds her hands by her sides again as she clenches her hands, the one holding the pill trembling slightly. ]
I... haven't seen Saihara or the others so far. I assume you haven't seen them either. It's fine if they aren't here. If they're not here, then they're probably safe, at least.
[ That's a good thing. She wants to think so, anyway. ]

Holy shit. That's beyond adorable. Even in the midst of this second killing game, he felt blessed by this sight.
He always found her puffy cheeks to be cute, but she looked extra adorable like this. Kaito could feel his own face beginning to heat up the longer he stared at her. His heart wanted to soar out of his chest and into the galaxies. He would be totally testing his luck if he poked her cheeks, but he wanted to so badly!!!!
Before he could comment on how cute she looked, he quickly retracts his hand when he sees those crimson eyes giving him that look.
Eep. He does give into temptation and gives her one more pat before he seriously moved his hand away and on his side. There's some mixed emotions when he finds out that Saihara wasn't around. If he had to be honest, he wanted to see his friend. However, knowing that he wasn't caught up in this mess overcame those feelings. He was happy and relieved to hear that at least he was out of harm's way. He didn't need to get involved in another killing game. If anything, he would much rather take his place than watch Saihara suffer even more.]
Yeah, you're right. As shitty as this is for the two of us, it's a relief that Shuuichi and the others are safe. So at least there's that upside.
[He still couldn't remember how he ended up here, or what happened but that didn't matter.
Maki was of the utmost importance and he was going to do whatever he could to make sure she gets out of here safely. He looks a little more serious as he stares at her, his eyes burning with determination to protect the girl he cared about.]
Don't worry, though! Since you have me by your side, I'm gonna give it my all to protect you. As long as Momota Kaito is around, nothing's going to happen to you. [Once he's done with his speal, the expression on his face is more gentle.] We'll find a way to get out of this together.

That confirms one thought of hers, most likely, but she isn't going to ask him what he last remembers. It's too dangerous, too painful... and she doesn't want that. He should be glad that he didn't mention anything about how cute she was, otherwise, he'd really be dead.
In the proverbial sense, not literal. Because there's no way she'd be able to muster the strength to actually kill him. Not when she's already seen him die in front of her eyes once already. Once was more than enough for a lifetime. She doesn't know what she'd do if he died again.
So even if he says that he'll protect her - she doesn't need protecting - she has to be the one to protect him. This time, she won't fail. Especially when they've already lost so much. ]
Right. We should get moving to see if we can find anything.
[ Thankfully Maki still has her knife on her as a protective item just in case they do run into any real trouble. ]
Or anybody. If this is supposed to be a killing game, there has to be more than just the two of us.

Shit, there too many things they needed to solve. Welp, it was time to show off his heroic leadership skills!!!
Of course, he still wasn't going to hold back if they do encounter the mastermind behind this killing game. Even if it got him hurt, he was going to do everything in his power to make sure that Maki gets out here safely.]
Yeah, you're right. Maybe we can even find a way to escape this place somehow.
[He takes a deep breath and begins to walk. There was still a tight feeling around his chest, but at least his coughing seemed to have settled down for now. Still, he couldn't shake the strange feeling in his head. It was as if he was forgetting something important. It was driving him crazy because he couldn't shake off that awful feeling.
There were some things that he needed to ask Maki about. Like, if she remembered how she got here. Because that was still bothering him too.]
At first I thought the others were here. But now that you've said that, I'm wonder what kinda bunch of people we'll run into.
[A dreadful thought comes to his mind and he lets out a long heavy sigh. He shouldn't be saying this just in case he jinxes the both of them, but he couldn't help but voice this thought outloud.]
Hopefully none of them are like Ouma. I'd probably lose my mind dealing with another one that's like him...
also as a heads up i am 100% down for npcing any other members for this hypothetical killing game
But if she's managed to escape a game with murder once, perhaps she can escape a game with murder twice.
Shouldn't be that hard, right? ]
... maybe. We'll get out together.
[ Maki swallows a little nervously however; she can't say all of us because she knows that they might not all get out alive. It doesn't help that she's practically a killswitch for the mastermind in exchange for Kaito's life. ]
If we do find someone that's like him, I'll deal with them.
[ And there's something in her almost cold red eyes that looks rather threatening. Even if she doesn't want to resort to killing, it is the one thing that she's good at, not to mention that she would make sure to pin it someone else.
Momota would protect her if she was caught, but...
She doesn't want him to die for her, either. There's no way she'd do such a thing. ]
i am absolutely down for that!! ♥ shall we just make up random people?
That's the spirit, Harumaki! With an attitude like that, I'm sure we'll get out of here together!!
[Also oops, his voice was on the loud side as he said that... jesus Kaito. People will be able to hear you from a mile away. :l
Of course, he doesn't know the full extent of what she means by that and in his mind; he still hopes to save the other unfortunate souls that were locked up in this place.]
Hey, just make sure you don't go dealing with them by all yourself.
[Because he's all about being touchy feely, he places his hand on top of her shoulder and gazes at her with a bright smile. Despite the situation they were put in, being around her still gave him a reason to feel positive.]
Remember, I'm here by your side. Being around you fires me up and I have no plans on dying here. I'm gonna do whatever I can to help you out. [He even begins to laugh.] Even if it means dealing with another Ouma.
yeah, sure! i don't mind if they're ocs or other various canon characters, laughs
Nevertheless, her smile soon fades from existence after a while, if only so that he doesn't comment on them. Besides, there is plenty of serious matters that needs to be dealt with. Like the fact that he doesn't want her to deal with things on her own.
Honestly, he's a hypocrite. He dealt with so much on his own... but she doesn't say a word about that.
Still— ]
Thank you.
[ She really appreciates him being by her side, even if she doesn't show it all that often, given her nature. ]
We probably should get going. Figure out where we're at, who we're dealing with.
[ And as if to prove just that, she takes his hand off her shoulder and begins to walk at a steady pace. Of course, she's not going too fast to allow him to catch up with her pretty easily. ]
excellent!! That totally works ♥ let me know if you want me to change the formating on this!!
Hey, it looks like there's someone up ahead.
[From afar, he notices an energetic looking girl with blonde hair and judging from the expression on her face she seemed like she was lost. The smart thing to do would be to cautiously approach her, but he's not really the best at being subtle
which is an understatement lmaoso instead, he waves his hand in the air and loudly greets her.]Yo! You lost?
[Even though he shouldn't be trusting people like this, his good conscious couldn't leave this girl all alone. The way he saw it, she was dragged into this horror show like Maki and himself. The girl immediately takes notice and actually looks relieved as she runs over to greet the pair.]
Oh! Hello!! I was starting to wonder if I was all alone. You two are the first people I've seen. I'm still trying to process what's going on!
[Based on looks alone, she kind of reminded him of Kaede. He begins to smile, but there was a hint of sadness. Seeing her was a sad reminder of what happened to that brave girl.]
Yeah, you're the first person we've ran into as well. We're still trying to figure out everything as well. [Then it begins to dawn on him, he was so angry that he... kinda... didn't pay much attention as to what was being said via intercom. Oops.... With that, he immediately turns to Maki.]
Harumaki! Do you think we need to gather at a gym or something?
no, that's totally perfect and omg jessica
Probably. If we manage to find some of the others, we can gather there, even if the one behind this doesn't make any other announcements. And we can discuss a way out of this mess.
[ And just as she says those words, she turns her back on the two of them as she finally begins to walk ahead, leading the way. ]
I LOVE JESSICA and sorry rust, it's been so long since I played her haha
As expected of my sidekick! [Jessica won't say it outloud, but she's totally questioning that claim of the mysterious girl being his sidekick. Sure, Dude...] She's right! If we put our heads together, I'm sure we'll figure out something. All we gotta do is work together.
Thank you for your reassurance! With you two around, I almost feel a little better about the situation.
[Before leaving, Kaito makes sure to glance back at the blonde girl, giving her a cheery smile and thumbs up as he continues to follow after Maki.]
You said something really awesome, Harumaki! You made that girl feel better, too. [His smile turns into a grin, feeling proud of her.] Maybe with enough cooperation, we'll be able to overthrow the mastermind in this killing game!
it's totally fine!
It wasn't really anything special. Besides, you know as much as I do that I'd rather have this "murder game" stop before it even begins.
[ While that's true, she's still under a contract of sorts. It makes her feel a little guilty in the pit of her stomach when he wears that trusting grin. But then again, he's like that, isn't he? ]
And... maybe. What are you planning on doing with them once we find them? The mastermind, that is.
